To paint the lettering on a shop window it takes a great amount of skill and patience as it is all done in reverse. First of all an outline is usually painted then allowed to dry. Then the lettering is painted in clear varnish an the gold is then applied to the varnish at the correct time for adhesion. A shadow can be added for effect. This is often blended to give more visual impact.<\/p>\n<h3>Traditional Hanging sign (Above second)<\/h3>\n<p>Traditional hanging signs can either be refurbished if existing or a new sign made from marine plywood and a solid oak frame. The lettering can then be painted using one shot lettering enamels or gilded using 23.75 carat gold leaf.<\/p>\n<h3>Traditional House Sign (Above last)<\/h3>\n<p>These can be made from either planed softwood or hardwood. They can be finished in any colour and paint finish that the customer wishes. Dulux Trade Exterior Satin finish, Dulux Trade Exterior Gloss which are both guaranteed for 6 years under most circumstances.
